“I don’t know the etiquette.” “I’ll probably cough.” “It’s hard to walk in alone.” — these are the concerns we hear most often.
In truth, however, most of the guests who come to us are trying a cigar for the first time. And roughly half of them arrive on their own.
How to cut, how to light, how to ash — we will guide you through each of them. There is nothing you need to learn beforehand.

Take the stairs down to the basement of Seven Building Ⅰ. We will show you to your seat first and ask what you would like to drink. You are welcome without a reservation, though a call ahead is the surest way if you would like a private room.

We will show you into the humidor. You may step through the door and take each cigar from the shelf in your own hand. After asking about the strength you prefer, the time you have, and your budget, our staff will narrow the choice down to a few. Please decide once you have taken in the aroma.

Our staff will attend to the cut and the light. With a cigar, the point is not to hurry the flame but to bring it slowly and evenly across the foot. How to smoke, how to ash, and how to rest the cigar are all explained on the spot, so please be at ease.

Should you step away from your seat partway through, we will hold your cigar and keep it alight. There is no need to smoke it to the end. Many guests set theirs down at about the halfway point. Switching to a different glass for the second half makes the change in flavor all the clearer.

SMOKING
Unlike a cigarette, a cigar is not drawn into the lungs; the smoke is savored in the mouth and released. Those who do not smoke can enjoy one just as well. If you are concerned about coughing, simply tell us and we will bring something mild.
DRESS
There is no dress code. You are welcome in everyday clothes on your way home from work. Do note only that the scent of a cigar lingers on clothing.
TIME
“Just an hour” is perfectly fine. We carry slender cigars that finish in 20 to 30 minutes. Tell us how much time you have and we will choose a cigar to match.
NON-SMOKER
Many guests come for nothing more than a glass of Madeira or a cup of coffee. Please note, however, that smoking is permitted at all seats, and other guests will be smoking cigars in the room. Those sensitive to smoke may wish to keep this in mind.
FAQ
Entirely all right. Most of the guests who come to us are here for the first time. We will start you with something mild and short, and guide you from the cut through to how to smoke. We also carry brands that are gentle on the throat, so please do not hesitate to ask.
Not at all. A great many of our guests come from overseas. You can spend the evening here without sharing a language.
About half of our guests come on their own. The counter seats allow you to settle in quietly by yourself. Conversation is never expected of you, so those who would rather pass the evening in silence are equally welcome.
You are welcome without a reservation. That said, if you would like a private room, or if you are coming as a larger party, a call ahead is the surest way. We are also glad to tell you the day’s seating situation by phone.

They range from 600 yen for our own CHARUTO cigars to more than 20,000 yen for rare brands. Cigar prices are set as government-approved retail prices under the Tobacco Business Act, which means the price is the same at every shop, ours included. Tell us your budget and we will make our suggestions within it.

We sell cigars to take away as well. We are glad to explain how to keep them at home, so please feel free to ask.
We have a private room for 2 to 8 guests, used for business entertaining, dining with guests, and after-parties alike. A reservation ensures it will be ready for you.
That is no problem at all. We do ask for at least one drink per guest, but it does not have to be alcohol. We offer French press coffee, tea, house-made craft cola and ginger ale, and non-alcoholic cocktails. If you would rather not choose a drink, we will bring mineral water (770 yen, tax included).
The seat charge is 1,100 yen per guest (tax included).
In addition to cash, we accept major credit cards and QR code payment.
Smoking is permitted at all seats, so you are free to smoke other tobacco as well. Please note that guests under 20 are not admitted.
It is a fortified wine made on the Portuguese island of Madeira. Its distinctive method of aging under heat gives rise to a toasted character reminiscent of nuts and caramel. It runs from dry to sweet, and few drinks sit so well beside a cigar. For more, please see our Madeira page.
